Sundrakk

Sundrakk was once the seat of power for the great Baron Tahmon Sundrakk. A very powerful lord who established a fairly expansive network of feudal lords, knights, mayors and magistrates under his banner. In the end it was this very network that eventually was his downfall. During the conjunction period, the people of all the surrounding baronies and fiefdoms fled inside the great walls of the city for protection, abandoning their homesteads and property. It was also during this time that the current reigning member of the Sundrakk family passed away (the means of his death is eternally debated and a matter of some controversy) leaving a great heated power vacuum. The mayors who rules their own districts within the city fought with the feudal lords who controlled land outside the city, for power and control of the city. This struggle still continues… However, this is not the cities biggest problem, for outside the city walls lie orcs by the thousands. During the Conjunction period these desperate orc tribes sought refuge in the expansive homesteads, manors and castles left abandoned by the feudal lords of Sundrakk. Most of these structures did not survive, but they provided enough shelter for the orc tribes to “weather the storm” and this survival actually strengthened and united these various tribes into a formidable army and culture in their own right. A culture which lays claim to all the land outside the city walls. The siege of Sundrakk has last since the Conjunction and continues to this day. The humans have made some headway in reclaiming their lands in recent years, establishing several small strongholds. Their control over these strongholds are tenuous at best as the orcish armies continue to grow. War never ceases…
