The village of Falledge sits at the base of a very massive cliff-face at the far northern edge of the Khyber Mountains. The town is hemmed in by a dense forest called the Northwinter Woods, and backed up to the cliff face. The Northwinter Woods used to hold an elven society before the Conjunction, but it did not survive. Rumors say the Falledge’s location was chosen by accident: The expedition leader was surveying the landscape when he fell off the cliff – they buried him where he landed and built the town around him. The towns original purpose was a lumber town to take advantage of the forest’s massive trees. Lumber is still their purpose, however, it has been an uphill battle since the start. The forest itself does not give up its inhabitants willingly, and there are all manner of foul creatures dwelling within. There are also two warring tribes of orcs, inconveniently placing the town in-between their hostilities. Over time the town has developed a militia to protect its citizens and fend off any orcs who choose to get too close. Since the lumber industry struggles, the inhabitants have taken to farming and mining to supplement the town’s income, although the people have learned to become very self sufficient. Anything they cannot produce themselves can be had in Rostundarum, though that city lies several days travel into the mountains.
